If you would like to become a member of the Graduate Consulting Club, please contact our treasurer Guoqiang Liu via email: gliu4@nd.edu. The membership fee is $10 per year and Seth will instruct you on payment of this membership fee.
Transitioning from academia to consulting may seem like a daunting career shift. By joining the Graduate Consulting Club, and participating in the events and workshops, you will learn about a career in consulting and acquire the skill set and interview practice you need to land the jobs you want. Members of our club benefit from numerous personal and professional advantages:
Boot Camps
We partner up with current and former professional consultants to provide you with an authentic experience of a consulting interview. You will learn how to crack a case and deal with resume questions in a series of workshops. As part of your practice, you will have the opportunity to dress up and do a mock one-on-one interview with a real consultant in one of our workshops.
Networking
We bring in former and current consultants for information sessions where they share their inside knowledge of the consulting industry. This is an opportunity for you to make your name known, get in contact with consultants, and learn more about consulting as a profession.
Resume-Building Activities
If you are tired of theoretical case studies, how about a real-world case? We partner up with local businesses and startups to create short-term engagement project for you. You will work in teams and present your deliverable to the company’s leadership. Along the way, you will learn how to apply your knowledge and build your skill set in ways typically unavailable to academics.
Job Updates
There are hundreds of consulting firms out there with dozens of different deadlines. Tired of subscribing to every single one of them? We provide you with a monthly newsletter that keeps you up to date with various opportunities and application deadlines in the consulting world.
Leadership Opportunities
As a young club, we constantly train the next generation of club leaders. You will learn to manage various projects and different aspects of the club. These opportunities will sharpen your hard and soft skills while also making your background more appealing to potential employers. After all, we exist to help you get a foot in the door of the consulting industry. Thus, we want you to take full advantage of the possibilities our club offers.
