Welcome to the University of Notre Dame Graduate Consulting Club (NDGCC) webpage. We are a graduate student-led initiative of the Center for Career Development opening to all Notre Dame graduate students and postdoctoral researchers who are interested in pursuing management consulting as a career.

Patrick Boyd
President
I am a 6th year PhD candidate in the Department of Biological Sciences. My research focuses on retinal regeneration in zebrafish, with the ultimate goal of understanding how to regenerate the human retina following injury or disease. In the future I want to apply the knowledge and skills I have developed during my doctoral studies to helping life science companies bring their products to the market and reach their full potential.
My primary goals for my time as club president are 1) provide graduate students with a better understanding of consulting and introduce them to the broad range of consulting roles that exist and 2) find new ways for members to contribute to the club and develop key skills for consulting.
Seth Parker

I am a 3rd year PhD student studying Ecology, Evolution, and the Environment in the Department of Biological Sciences. My work focuses on development and analysis of mathematical models to simulate the dynamics of carbon as it moves between soils, vegetation, and the atmosphere. I have particular interest in modeling changes to the carbon cycle in the context of climate change. My professional goal is to work as a consultant, where I hope to leverage my quantitative skills and knowledge of ecology to help businesses or other entities achieve sustainability goals, such as carbon neutrality.
Neha Mehra

I am a chemical engineer and 5th year Ph.D. candidate working in computational catalysis. My research is on first-principles interrogation of mechanisms by which transition metals anchored on oxide supports can catalytically oligomerize ethylene into fuels and petrochemicals. I apply knowledge from chemistry, reaction engineering, mathematical modeling and python programming to analyze the problem, obtain and sort data and to answer the key questions. I have served as departmental representative in GSU and as a mentor to three students. As board officer, I will use my creative and problem-solving abilities to nudge the consulting club in its endeavor to guide and prepare our university students for careers in consulting.

I am a 2nd year MBA student majoring in Strategy and Corporate Finance at Mendoza College of Business. I was a golf business consultant prior to my MBA journey.
Liz Loughran
Advisor, Graduate Career Services
Liz Loughran joined Graduate Career Services in 2018 and serves as the Graduate Career Consultant for the College of Science. She seeks to empower students to pursue career experiences they find meaningful and impactful, including consulting. Before joining the GCS team, Liz was an innovation consultant at enFocus where she gained business experience in a variety of sectors. Liz has a strong scientific background, holding a Ph.D. in integrated biomedical sciences and a B.S. in biochemistry from the University of Notre Dame. She carried out her doctoral research in the lab of M. Sharon Stack at Harper Cancer Research Institute studying the impact of age and parity on ovarian cancer metastasis. Liz is a member of the Graduate Career Consortium and the Society of Catholic Scientists.
